JMIR Publications (a co-founder of TrendMD*) is using TrendMD routinely to promote/disseminate articles published in JMIR journals across other publishers and journals including for example JAMA or BMJ. JMIR articles will appear as "related articles" in articles published in other journals and at other publishers.
Authors of JMIR can purchase additional credits to gain additional clicks to their article from these partner publishers.
Research has shown that TrendMD increased readership by 49% in a controlled study across 500 JMIR articles (see references below). Ongoing research also shows that dissemination through the TrendMD network increases saves to Mendeley, which may also lead to more citations.
JMIR authors can order/pay for knowledge dissemination add-ons like TrendMD or sponsored Tweets when they pay for their APF.
